Corporate Event Floral Design Company Of The Year — Neil Leeson Decor Floral

Like many floral design companies, Neil Leeson Decor Floral broadened its scope of services in 2015. “We seemed to be involved even more heavily in the actual planning of the events,” Neil Leeson said. “We worked seamlessly with the event planners, venue staffs, and a myriad of other vendors to pull together many highly successful events. We were also given a lot of artistic freedom from our corporate clients to create some really dynamic floral designs.” Many of those customers scheduled events at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Cleveland Convention Center, Cleveland Museum of Art, Renaissance Hotel, and the Westin. Leeson said he was especially proud to work the opening reception for the Herb Ritts Exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This was the first showing of the world-renowned photographer’s iconic work with rock stars, so it was imperative, Leeson said, that it be done as tastefully as possible, especially because representatives from the Herb Ritts Foundation would be in attendance that night. Some of these representatives had been longtime friends and collaborators of Ritts, “so it really needed to be done right … and on a tight budget,” Leeson said. His company used tall yet simple and dramatic white florals with very clean lines atop jet black glass vases to achieve a chic, sophisticated look. “Later in the evening, the director of the Rock Hall informed me that the foundation reps were so in love with everything we did that they wanted to duplicate the look for all future openings for this exhibit nationally from then on,” Leeson said. “They said we absolutely nailed it and that it hit exactly the right note they were hoping for. As someone who has loved Herb Ritts’ work since the ’90s, this was very exciting to hear.”

Also at the Rock Hall, Leeson’s company was hired by the event planner for the Shaklee Corp. to be the function’s florist and designer. “This particular event presented many challenges as the planning moved along, as the client kept continually changing direction and scaling things back, so multiple versions of floor plans, quotes, and itineraries were needed almost weekly,” Leeson said. “However, we were able to maintain the integrity of the original concept and the clients were thrilled with the final product.” Bendix Commercial Vehicles Systems hosted a three-day event at the Westin, Cleveland Convention Center, and Rock Hall. “We played an integral role in the planning of this event, working closely with Bendix’s executive assistant to the president to orchestrate three separate looks for each of their venues,” Leeson said. “It is important to note with each of these Rock Hall events that because the Rock Hall is a museum that is open to the public, each event there is installed within a very short window of time, usually only about two to three hours, after the museum closes for the day. This requires a larger investment of time, communication, and organization on our part, a challenge which we rise to every single time. We create color charts showing placements of all linens, florals, and candles, and all key staff members are required to read and internalize the information contained within each event file to ensure that everyone works in concert with the venue, caterer, and all other vendors involved in each project. This extra organization we do ensures a smooth and timely event installation each and every time, setting us apart from many others.”
