SOLON — Energy Focus hired Jennifer Deutsch as senior vice president of marketing. With more than three decades of experience in innovative product launches and brand development, Deutsch will focus on strengthening and expanding the company’s marketing and brand-building operations, public relations campaigns, and lead-generation initiatives for its innovative LED lighting technologies and products across government and commercial sectors.

Prior to joining Energy Focus, Deutsch held a variety of positions in the MDC marketing communications network. MDC Partners is one of the fastest-growing and most influential marketing and communications networks in the world, with 1,700 clients worldwide, including Google, ESPN, Samsung, and Smirnoff. Most recently Deutsch served as founder and COO of Antidote 360, a healthcare and wellness marketing agency based in New York, and as EVP at Doner Advertising. In her role Deutsch handled day-to-day business operations and new-business initiatives for both organizations, working with a wide group of clients, including OhioHealth, One Medical, Things Remembered, Sherwin-Williams, Eaton, Timken, and GOJO Industries.

Deutsch began her career at Nestlé, where she progressed from management trainee to director of New Ventures, helping develop and launch the global “Lean Cuisine” brand and two global blockbuster ice cream brands. Following Nestlé, she revamped the Renaissance Hotels’ brand. Following Renaissance’s acquisition by Marriott, Deutsch became the SVP of global brand management at Marriott International, where she repositioned and optimized the Marriott brand portfolio.

“We could not be more pleased to have Jennifer joining our leadership team,” said James Tu, executive chairman, president and chief executive officer of Energy Focus. “Over the past few years, with superb product quality, performance and value proposition, as well as dedicated, comprehensive customer service, Energy Focus has established itself as the most trusted LED lighting partner for our leading government and business clients in key vertical markets, such as the Department of Defense, healthcare, education, retail, and manufacturing. Jennifer’s extensive skill set and proficiency in creating and operating global brands will propel and accelerate our momentum toward building the Energy Focus brand in the broader enterprise market.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Energy Focus team and working with a company that excels in all facets, from product excellence and business innovation to social responsibility,” Deutsch said. “More than ever, businesses, and consumers are recognizing the wide range of economic, health and environmental benefits of LED lights. I look forward to further promoting Energy Focus’s advanced, differentiated and flicker-free LED product lines and exceptional service quality by continuing to drive strong, trusting relationships with our customers, partners, and our communities.”
