Westfield Bank appointed Michael Jeans and Jeffery Walters to its board of directors.

Michael Jeans, president and CEO, founded and leads Growth Opportunity Partners, a lending company launched by JumpStart, providing coaching and loans to support the growth of small to mid-size companies in Northeast Ohio with a particular focus on impact in low to moderate income urban and rural areas. Jeans previously held leadership positions in the financial industry, including Urban Partnership Bank, KeyBank, National City Bank, and Morgan Stanley.

Commitment to the community and supporting charitable organizations are important to Jeans. He has previously served as chairman of the boards of directors for Our Lady of the Wayside and The Greater Cleveland Film Commission, as well as a board member for the American Red Cross Cleveland Chapter. Jeans is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland and a current board member for the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, Our Lady of the Wayside, and Growth Opportunity Partners. Jeans is also a member of the Financial Advisory Committee for Congresswoman Marcia Fudge and on the advisory board for Cleveland State University’s Center for Population Dynamics.

Jeffery Walters CPA, MT, JD, is a managing director in the Northeast Ohio offices of accounting firm CBIZ MHM, LLC. Walters provides financial and tax advisory services to various businesses including manufacturers, distributors, contractors, real estate investors, retailers, oil and gas operators, medical, healthcare, technology, and research professional service providers. Walters also serves as an advisory board member for various closely held companies.

An active advocate for the Northeast Ohio business community, Walters serves as treasurer and an executive committee member of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. He is also a trustee of Stark State College, a member of the Greater Cleveland Partnership government affairs council and has served as chairman of the Greater Akron Chamber and the Ohio Small Business Council, as well as president of the Massillon Rotary.
