Business Networking Organization of the Year (Young Professionals) — Engage! Cleveland

Engage! Cleveland created two new programs in 2016 to bolster its mission of attracting, engaging, and retaining young professionals in Cleveland. The Employer Membership program helped connect Cleveland’s top employers with YPs and, within the first year, attracted 21 employer members who engaged the YP community. The Leadership Council formalized Engage! Cleveland’s existing committee structure and provided YPs with unique networking and leadership opportunities. The council consists of 25 young professionals (ages 22-40) who serve as advocates for the YP demographic, assist with the planning and execution of programs and networking events, and promote a positive YP experience in Cleveland. With the growth of the program and event offerings, EC brought on its second full-time staff member, Deena Koludrovich. She serves as the program coordinator for EC and helps with the planning of events and marketing. The organization’s Facebook following reached 6,200 followers. Its Instagram following more than doubled to 5,400. The group broke 12,000 followers on Twitter and 1,200 on LinkedIn. On the networking front, EC hosted and partnered on 60 different networking events, with partners such as the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, KeyBank, and Greater Cleveland Caucus. The third-annual Cleveland Young Professionals Week engaged more than 2,200 young professionals at 31 events across the Cleveland area, and despite coinciding with the Cavaliers’ championship parade, went off without a hitch. EC continued to serve more than 80 YP organizations in Greater Cleveland while hosting Collaboration Council meetings to bring together the leaders of these organizations. The group hosted its fifth-annual YP Workshop at John Carroll University. The workshop provided YPs with information to excel in their professional, personal, and civic endeavors. Engage! Cleveland also hosted a special Job and Opportunities Fair during Cleveland Young Professionals Week to build relationships with YPs, nonprofits, and employers.

Runners-up: Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club; New Partners of Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center; Playhouse Square Partners; United Way of Greater Cleveland Young Leaders.
