The Music Box Supper Club, in its second year of operation, continued to grow on the corporate events front in 2016. Why? Because the 15,000-square-foot music venue isn’t your typical banquet center, owners Colleen and Mike Miller maintain. Attendees are greeted by floor-to-ceiling river-view windows and open spaces that allow them to get up and move around. With so many events occurring in 2016, Corporate Events Manager Brittany Reye had no trouble staying busy. “I was nonstop with corporate events; everything from daytime business meetings and all-day training sessions to holiday parties and fundraisers,” she says. “This was our busiest year to date. It’s been great.” After winning the NBA championship, the Cleveland Cavaliers approached Music Box about hosting its employee recognition program, Rock n’ Recognition. The Music Box’s high-quality sound system and riverfront location attracted the Cavs, but there were a few challenges. The event would require Reye to configure the space to fit more than 300 people with just one week’s notice. “Brittany and the staff did an incredible job accommodating us,” Megan Dean, the benefits and wellness manager for the Cavaliers, says. “It was such a great event.” As a second-year venue, the most important milestone for Music Box was achieving repeat business. Returning clients included Prevent Blindness, Adoption Network, Howard Hanna, InterDesign, MedWorks, Charles Bowlus Charities, First American Title, Disrupt HR, Secure State, 1EDI, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Lubrizol, and Medical Mutual.
