WKYC News Highlights Connectors Choice Awards

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Business Connects (CBC) publisher Renee DeLuca Dolan will be the featured guest on today’s noon broadcast of WKYC (Channel 3) News. She will preview the third-annual Connectors Choice Awards (CCA) celebration March 3 at the House of Blues Cleveland.

Joining DeLuca Dolan on the set will be Sammy’s Executive Chef John Taylor. Cleveland-based Sammy’s is nominated this year in two CCA categories — Best Onsite Caterer and Best Offsite Caterer.

The Connectors Choice Awards honor the top companies, organizations, and individuals in Northeast Ohio’s networking and event-planning communities. Sixty-three finalists — three in each of 21 categories — were determined by a record 1,948 ballots cast by readers of CBC magazine. The winners will be announced during the awards portion of the CCA ceremony.

The House of Blues will open its doors to all registered attendees at 5 p.m. After an hour of networking, the awards ceremony — also open to all attendees — will run from 6 p.m. to approximately 7:15 p.m. The remainder of the evening will be dedicated to additional networking, dining (food stations), cocktails, giveaways (including two Continental Airlines tickets), and live entertainment. The featured entertainers throughout the evening will be the three CCA nominees for Best Entertainer — Jerry Bruno Productions, represented by Esto Jazz (5-6 p.m.), Rock the House Entertainment Group (7:20-8 p.m.), and Sparky B (8:15-9 p.m.)

The 63 finalists are listed below. All 21 winners will be profiled in the March issue of CBC Magazine, which will be released March 3 at the House of Blues.

More than 400 business professionals are expected to attend. Each attendee will receive a $30 gift card from John Robert’s Spa.

All CBC paid subscribers, including new ones, are invited free of charge but must reserve their tickets at http://www.cbcmagazine.com/cca2010 . Advanced tickets for non-paid subscribers are $35, and tickets at the door are $45. Anyone interested in subscribing to CBC can do so by filling out the information at the top right corner of CBC’s home page at http://www.cbcmagazine.com .

The celebration is presented by CBC Magazine and is sponsored by the Cleveland Indians, Dollar Bank, Corporate College, Fred Baker Porsche Audi, Colortone Staging and Rentals, John Robert’s Spa, Allen Graphics, and the House of Blues. Rack ’em: Giant Eagle, Walmart, Buehler’s carry CBC Magazine

Dec. 7, 2009

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Business Connects (CBC) magazine has added three major players to its arsenal of Northeast Ohio retailers that distributes the monthly business-to-business magazine.

Beginning with the current November/December double-issue, CBC readers can purchase the publication at 54 Giant Eagle stores, 45 Walmart locations, and all 13 Buehler’s sites.

“This is one of the most significant distribution victories we’ve had,” CBC publisher Renée DeLuca Dolan says. “Adding 100-plus locations increases our newsstand distribution by 75 percent. We’re thrilled and honored to partner with these companies. They realize and celebrate our unique differences. Catering to professional businesswomen has really made a difference.”

CBC, which celebrated its third anniversary in November, covers the corporate scene in Northeast Ohio, with an emphasis on event planning and networking. Seventy percent of its readers are female, and 48 percent of its readers hold senior-level positions.

Six prominent retailers in Northeast Ohio now carry CBC. Barnes and Noble and Borders Books and Music began selling the magazine in May. Joseph-Beth Booksellers has sold the publication since February. CBC readers can also check out the magazine for free at every branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library system.

“CBC’s growth plan is aggressive. We’re looking to be the premier B-to-B and events magazine in Northeast Ohio,” DeLuca Dolan says. “We’re looking at partnering with two other publishers in 2010 to provide content that our readers are requesting. We listen, we analyze, and we publish what we feel is current, relevant, and explores the growth, expertise, and passion of the business professionals that make a difference in our communities.”

The newsstand price of the magazine is $3.95 plus tax.
